The water is still very low but there are a few starting the “spring” bait fishing for Northern Pike. I have heard of some good catches from the south end of the lake in the Harlow Pt area and Harrison bay. On the north end try Wolf Lodge Blue Creek and Squaw bays and then Cougar when the water comes up a bit. We carry a good supply of both Smelt and Herring for bait and should have plenty of different hook set ups from the double treble to the big Swedish hooks in stock. This is also just starting and better times are ahead of us but the weather is good so you might as well get a jump on the season and get started.
Our annual spring Salmon Classes still have a few spots left if you are interested. It is a great way for the new Salmon troller to get a real jump on the riggings, locations all of the ins and out of trolling on lake CDA for Chinook Salmon. We have two sessions scheduled March 12-13 and March 19-20. The Friday night of the classes is at the store with presentations demonstrations on everything we know about CDA lake Chinooks then the Saturday is out in the boat for the day putting everything to work. It is meant to be a hands on learning experience. Cost is $150.00 you can get more information or sign up by calling the Fins at 208-667-9304
Our winter special is still on through March so get on the list and get a date scheduled to get on the $100.00 per person for a full day trip, three person min. It’s a great deal close to home and we catch some good fish.
The spring derbies are scheduled. The Spring Chinook derby is set for April 17-18th and the spring Pike Tourney is the following weekend April 24-25th
